The King's Speech, castigator la categoria Cel mai bun film, mi se pare ca defineste intr-o oarecare masura esenta si existenta premiilor Oscar, adica e un film accesibil publicului larg, dar cu o tenta de snobism, care gadila orgoliul cinefilului de "elita" prin jocul celor doi actori din rolurile principale, prin imaginile bine alese care subliniaza traiul epocii respective, prin scenariu etc., o drama cu putina istorie, bine-nteles emotionanta, induiosatoare, (usor patetica pentru mine) care se termina intr-o nota pozitiva. Desi, pe durata decernarii premiilor, cineva a glumit spunand ca Colin Firth n-a facut o treaba atat de buna ca "rege" pe cat de buna a fost Helen Mirren ca "regina", acesta a castigat premiul pentru Cel mai bun actor in rol principal. Primul, Goodfellas, cunoscut si recunoscut pentru "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.", pentru Scorsese, care a avut resursele, rabdarea si talentul necesar pentru a crea si a expune atat de bine viata de gangster, pentru Oscarul primit de Joe Pesci. Mie personal mi-a placut mai mult Donnie Brasco - film inspirat dintr-un caz real - pentru personajul lui Al Pacino, Lefty, un barbat care toata viata a aspirat la statutul de gangster, dar care niciodata n-a fost recunoscut "oficial" ca facand parte din Familie, un personaj trist, care e tras in piept si umilit in nenumarate randuri. Recomand ;)
